Program Manager, Atmospheric Science
DeVine is a leading provider of Technological and Scientific solutions for Federal, State and commercial clients.
Our company is looking to hire a Program Manager, Atmospheric Science to collaborate with our client in Greenbelt, MD, and work in the field of applied atmospheric science. This is an onsite role in Maryland with occasional travel required.
DeVine supports programs in atmospheric science, modeling, and data assimilation among other disciplines. The Program Manager, Atmospheric Science will be a major contributor in management, administrative and research functions across a variety of projects. Responsibilities:
- Leadership of programs in collaboration with client
- Ensure all requirements for projects and tasks are successful delivered
- Prepare and lead meetings with staff and client
- Collaborate with DeVine HQ regarding training, hiring and reviewing of assigned staff
- Be a key contributor to proposal and technical writing efforts
- Participate in team events
Experience & Requirements:
- Master's Degree or higher in Atmospheric Science, or equivalent, required
- 5+ years' experience managing people and technical projects required
- 10+ years' professional experience in scientific projects desired
- Demonstrable experience in managing Federal contract efforts required
- Experience with Federal scientific agencies, such as NASA, in managing contracting & scientific efforts highly desired
- Experience in the following a plus:
- Development and use of atmosphere, ocean, land surface and cryosphere models and data assimilation systems to enhance the utility of satellite data in weather, climate and environmental modeling, analysis and prediction
- Development and use of atmospheric constituent (aerosols and trace gases) models and assimilation systems
- Development and use of coupled climate models and coupled chemistry-climate models
- Development and use of ocean biology and carbon cycle models and assimilation systems
- Development and use of subseasonal-to-seasonal climate forecast systems to support research into predictability and to enhance forecast skill by optimizing the use of satellite data in the initialization of the coupled forecast system
- Scientific analysis and visualization of model simulations, data assimilation products, and both satellite and in situ data
- Relevant certifications a plus

Compensation: $155K-$180K per year DOE and skills
